Ford Recalls 163,250 Bronco SUVs Over Seat Safety Risk

URGENT UPDATE: Ford has just announced a major safety recall affecting 163,250 Bronco SUVs due to a critical defect that raises the risk of injuries during crashes. The recall, confirmed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affects Bronco models sold during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years.

The defect involves the height adjust pivot bolts in the front seats, which may be loose or dislodged. In the event of a crash, a seat with a compromised bolt may fail to restrain the occupant, significantly increasing the potential for injury. Ford urges Bronco owners to be vigilant for signs of seat issues, particularly if they notice any squeaks, rattles, or looseness.

Starting December 1, 2025, Ford will initiate contact with affected vehicle owners via mail to instruct them on how to proceed. Owners will be directed to bring their vehicles into a dealership, where dealers will replace the pivot links and bolts at no cost.

For immediate inquiries, Ford owners can reach out to the company’s customer service line at (866) 436-7332 or contact the NHTSA’s safety hotline at (888) 327-4236 to confirm if their vehicle is involved in the recall.

This urgent recall follows a series of other significant safety issues Ford has addressed this year. In August, approximately 21,700 SUVs and sedans were recalled due to failing lights and turn signals. Earlier in May, over 273,000 SUVs faced recalls over brake line defects that could lead to fluid leaks. Additionally, in April, more than 33,000 SUVs were recalled due to potential fuel leaks that posed a risk of engine fires.

As Ford navigates these safety challenges, it remains crucial for owners to stay informed and take swift action to protect their safety and that of their passengers. Share this information widely to ensure all Bronco owners are aware and can check their vehicles for this urgent safety concern.
