Fergus Falls Woman, 55, Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 210

UPDATE: A tragic head-on collision has claimed the life of Sandra Marie Olson, a 55-year-old woman from Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The crash occurred just before noon on November 1, 2023, in rural Otter Tail County on Minnesota Highway 210.

At approximately 11:04 a.m., Olson was driving her 2012 Toyota 4Runner eastbound when she drifted into oncoming traffic while negotiating a curve. The vehicle collided head-on with a 1990 Peterbilt truck driven by John Floyd Mayfield, 62, of Perham. Tragically, Olson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Emergency responders from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Ringdahl Ambulance, and Underwood Fire Department rushed to the crash site located in Tordenskjold Township, approximately 13 miles east of Fergus Falls. Miraculously, Mayfield emerged uninjured.
