URGENT UPDATE: The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce has just announced the honorees for the 15th Annual Salute to Patriots, set to take place on October 4, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida. This event recognizes veterans who have shown extraordinary dedication to the nation and the local business community. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m.
The esteemed honorees include: Camille Applin-Jones, Juan Blanco, Robert Lasher, Vernon Charles Miller, Anthony Straight, Deputy Keith Wells, and Eric White. These veterans have been selected for their exemplary service and ongoing commitment to community leadership.
“This year’s honorees represent the very best of Santa Clarita, individuals who have served with distinction and continue to make an impact through leadership and community service,” said Di Thompson, the chair of the SCV Chamber board. “Salute to Patriots is both a tribute and a call to action, celebrating those who have given so much while inspiring others to follow their example.”
Throughout the month of October, community members submitted nominations honoring veterans who exemplify continued service beyond their military careers. From these nominations, seven exceptional veterans were chosen for this year’s recognition. Nominations that were not selected will be kept in consideration for future events, ensuring that every story of service is acknowledged.
“Our veterans are pillars of our community. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment remind us what true service means,” stated Ivan Volschenk, president/CEO of the SCV Chamber. “We owe them our deepest gratitude. Honoring them brings us together in appreciation and pride for all they have given. We invite everyone to join us in standing with our veterans and celebrating the impact they continue to make in Santa Clarita and beyond.”
The Chamber is encouraging community members, organizations, and businesses to attend the event and show support for local veterans. Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are currently available. For more details and registration, visit www.scvchamber.com under the Events tab.
