Elaine Hendrix Confirms Return to DWTS After Hospitalization

UPDATE: Elaine Hendrix has just confirmed her return to Dancing with the Stars rehearsals after a recent hospitalization due to a rib injury. In an urgent Instagram update on October 29, 2023, the actress, alongside her partner Alan Bersten, reassured fans of her recovery and readiness to dance again.

In a heartfelt video message, Hendrix, 54, stated, “I am up and about. I am tender. I am sore. But I’m starting pain management today.” She emphasized that while she won’t be dancing today or tomorrow, she plans to resume rehearsals on Friday, aiming for a comeback in the live show on Tuesday, November 4, 2023.

Hendrix’s hospitalization was prompted by severe rib pain that arose during rehearsals for Halloween Night. Just days prior, she had experienced a painful incident while dancing to “Defying Gravity” from the musical Wicked. She explained, “I couldn’t move. They brought me to the hospital,” revealing that doctors advised her to take a couple of days for recovery.

Despite her absence from the Halloween Night episode, which saw Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik eliminated, Hendrix and Bersten received a score of 8s across the board based on footage from their last full rehearsal. The couple was saved from elimination thanks to fans’ votes, with Bersten confirming during a TikTok live session, “You guys voted, we are going to be safe.”

Hendrix expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much for voting for us. We can feel the support, and we appreciate it so much.” She also shared her disappointment in missing out on showcasing their Halloween performance, stating, “The hardest part was not being able to show you just how incredible our piece could have been.”

In her post, Hendrix shared behind-the-scenes photos of her costume inspired by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road, highlighting the effort put into their routine. She stated, “The DWTS creative team is THE BEST! 👏🏼✨.”

As she prepares to return, fans are eager to see how she and Bersten will perform in the upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame themed episode. With her determination to dance and the support from fans, Hendrix’s return to the ballroom is highly anticipated.
