Alaska Airlines Launches Nonstop Service from ACV to Seattle

Alaska Airlines has confirmed plans to initiate nonstop flights between the California-Redwood Coast Humboldt County Airport (ACV) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) starting on April 8, 2026. This new route will serve as the only direct connection from the Redwood Coast to the Pacific Northwest, allowing passengers to access 79 cities with a single stop, including emerging services to Asia and Europe.

The announcement was made via a press release from the Humboldt County Administrative Office, highlighting the significance of this development for both residents and travelers. Flights will be available for booking from today at Alaskaair.com.

Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines, expressed enthusiasm for the service. “We’re delighted to begin flying our guests between our hometown airport in Seattle and the Arcata-Eureka area. Those heading to Northern California can enjoy the region’s stunning scenery, including the towering redwoods, while flyers making their way to Seattle can take advantage of convenient connections across our network, including to Alaska and Hawai‘i,” she stated.

This marks a significant return for Alaska Airlines to the Humboldt County area, as the airline last operated flights there in 2011, primarily serving Portland. The introduction of this new route represents ACV’s first nonstop service to Seattle, a request long awaited by the local community.

Community Response and Flight Details

Michelle Bushnell, Chair of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors, shared her excitement about the new service. “Humboldt County is thrilled to welcome Alaska Airlines back to the Redwood Coast. Residents and travelers have been asking for a Seattle flight for a long time, and this new service is the result of years of work with Alaska to prove the viability of our market,” she noted. Bushnell emphasized the collaborative efforts of the Aviation Department and various local agencies that made this service possible.

Beginning on April 8, flights will operate daily, featuring a mid-morning departure from SEA and a mid-afternoon return from ACV. This schedule is designed to accommodate various travel needs, making it convenient for both leisure and business travelers.

All flights will utilize the Embraer 175 aircraft, which seats 76 passengers without middle seats, ensuring every traveler has a window or aisle option. Additional amenities will include Wi-Fi, onboard entertainment, and power outlets available for first-class passengers.
