BREAKING: A man was arrested in Hartford on October 12, 2023, after allegedly firing shots during a heated road rage incident. Police responded urgently to reports of gunfire near Park and Washington Streets just before 8:40 p.m., where they discovered damage from gunfire to a victim’s vehicle.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department, the driver who called for help reported being targeted in the altercation but fortunately suffered no injuries. The quick response from law enforcement led to a description of the suspect’s vehicle being disseminated to nearby units.
Within minutes, officers from the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force located the vehicle, which was linked to the shooting. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Lorenzo Dunn of Hartford, who was taken into custody without further incident.
Upon searching the vehicle, authorities allegedly discovered a firearm and narcotics. Further investigation revealed that Dunn had an outstanding warrant related to a prior assault involving a gun earlier this year.
Dunn now faces multiple serious charges, including criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. He has been transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility for processing.
