San Diego County Experiences Warm Weather Before Weekend Chill

Warm and dry conditions are set to envelop San Diego County on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures returning to near-normal levels. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), daytime highs for Thursday are anticipated to range from 67 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit near the coast, 71 to 74 inland, 71 to 76 in the valleys, 67 to 74 in the mountains, and an impressive 85 to 89 in the desert regions.
This period of warming will not last long, as a cooler and windier front is expected to sweep through the area over the weekend. The NWS reports that gusty west winds will likely develop on Sunday afternoon and continue into the evening, particularly affecting the mountains, deserts, and passes. Wind gusts could exceed 30 miles per hour in these areas.
Temperature Fluctuations Ahead
Meteorologists indicate that temperatures will fluctuate around the seasonal average over the coming week. Following the brief warm spell, temperatures are projected to dip slightly below average on Wednesday before rising again on Friday. This pattern resembles a gentle ocean swell, with highs dipping again this weekend before cresting above average once more next week.
Despite the arrival of cooler temperatures, the weather system contributing to these changes is expected to remain dry, with any potential rain or storms staying well to the north of San Diego County. As early as next week, a gradual warming trend is anticipated to re-emerge, accompanied by periods of weak offshore flow, according to NWS forecasts.
Residents of San Diego County can expect a dynamic range of weather conditions in the days ahead, making it essential to stay informed and prepared for the shifts in temperature and wind patterns.
