Megan Thee Stallion Challenges Lawsuit Over Alleged Misconduct

Megan Thee Stallion is demanding that Emilio Garcia, the man suing her for allegedly creating a hostile work environment, provide evidence to support his claims. The lawsuit, filed over a year ago, alleges that Megan forced Garcia to witness her engaging in sexual acts in a car during the European leg of her tour. In a motion filed on Tuesday, Megan’s legal representatives argued that Garcia has yet to substantiate his allegations, which they describe as “sensationalized and baseless.”
The legal team, led by attorney Alex Spiro, emphasized in the motion that it is time for Garcia to “put up or shut up.” They stated, “Plaintiff still has no evidentiary support for his sensationalized and baseless claims… No longer can plaintiff hide behind presumptions of truth for allegations unmoored to any factual support.”
Garcia claims that he was terminated from his role as a videographer on the tour due to the incident he describes. In contrast, Megan has characterized his accusations as “false and fabricated.” Her motion further asserts that evidence indicates Garcia’s own derogatory text messages about Megan led to the termination of his services, rather than any legitimate complaints regarding his work environment or pay.
Garcia’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, responded to the motion in a statement to Billboard, expressing confidence that the judge would deny Megan’s request. He remarked, “This is just the MO of celebrities when they’ve been sued. They don’t settle, they don’t resolve. They just try to get rid of it, never looking at themselves to see if they’re at all at fault for what’s happened to their own employees but instead spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on public relations and attorneys to protect their brands.”
In addition to the lawsuit against Megan, Garcia is also pursuing legal action against Roc Nation, the company that manages her. Roc Nation has filed its own motion seeking to dismiss the lawsuit, stating, “The time has come to end the burden and expense that this suit has imposed on Roc Nation.”
The ongoing legal dispute highlights the complexities of workplace allegations in the entertainment industry, where celebrity status often complicates both public perception and legal proceedings. As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the court will address the claims made by both parties.
