Danielle Moinet, widely recognized by her ring name Summer Rae, expressed her ongoing desire to return to WWE during a recent interview with Talk Sport. Moinet, who has transitioned from wrestling to a role as an interviewer and social media contributor for Bare Knuckle Boxing, revealed that her history with WWE continues to influence her current career.

In her interview, Moinet discussed her various responsibilities, stating, “My role with the company, I do backstage interviews, in-ring interviews. I do a lot of social media for them and it works out coming with my WWE background and background in combat sports. My fans love it and it’s been fun getting to know the game.” Her enthusiasm for the sport is clear, as she noted that WWE remains an integral part of her identity.

Connections and Friendships in Wrestling

Moinet emphasized the strong connections she maintains within the wrestling community. “I’m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly,” she shared. “I’m such a big fan, and it’s just a part of me, it always will be. And you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.” This sentiment underscores her lasting passion for wrestling, despite her current career path.

When asked about her favorite colleagues during her time at WWE, Moinet mentioned several notable names, including Saraya (formerly known as Paige), Natalya, and Mercedes Mone. She fondly recalled her experiences, particularly with Natalya, highlighting their rivalry on the reality series Total Divas. “Though she is Bret Hart’s niece, she says to this day, people talk about me and the slap heard around the world. So, that’s fun,” Moinet remarked.

Her friendships extend beyond rivalries, as she acknowledged her ongoing connections with fellow wrestlers like Sasha Banks and Naomi. She also expressed admiration for The Big Show, who she credits with being a significant mentor early in her wrestling career.

A Brief Return and Future Speculations

Moinet’s time with WWE spanned from 2011 to 2017, during which she served as Fandango‘s valet and dance partner, and participated in notable storylines involving Rusev, Lana, and Dolph Ziggler. She made a brief return to the ring in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, where she was eliminated by Natalya in less than a minute.

Prior to her wrestling career, Moinet played for the Chicago Bliss in the Lingerie Football League from 2008 to 2011, making the All-Star team in her final year. Recently, speculation about a possible return to wrestling emerged after she posted a cryptic message on social media that read, “Think it’s time to come home………” on September 16, 2025.

As fans eagerly await any potential news regarding Moinet’s wrestling future, her current work in Bare Knuckle Boxing showcases her adaptability and continued involvement in the combat sports arena. Whether she steps back into the squared circle remains uncertain, but her passion for WWE and the wrestling community is undeniable.
