The former comedian turned podcaster shared the passage, Isaiah 43:18-19, on social media days after a viral moment where he fumbled to remember it during a live interview.
Brand, 50, appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored last Friday when Morgan asked about the Bible he brought to his February court hearing in the UK. Brand is currently facing trial over rape and sexual assault allegations from six women, with charges dating from 1999 to 2009. When pressed to name a specific verse that resonated with him during the proceedings, Brand hesitated for nearly 90 seconds before being unable to recall it.
The awkward moment quickly spread across social media, prompting speculation that Brand’s Christian faith was a facade amid the serious accusations. However, Brand pushed back with a video posted to his X account on Sunday where he identified the verse as Isaiah 43:18-19.
