De Mujer a Mujer, a distinguished program under the auspices of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), has announced that it is now accepting nominations for the seventh annual De Mujer a Mujer Awards. Scheduled for presentation at a recognition event on June 11, 2024, these awards celebrate the contributions and diversity of women in Berks County and the Greater Reading area.
Community members are encouraged to participate by submitting nominations for three award categories: the Community Impact Award, the Young Changemaker Award, and the Small Business Owner Award. Each category recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their community or industry.
The Community Impact Award honors a woman whose service and leadership have made a lasting difference in the community. The Young Changemaker Award is designated for a promising young woman aged 18 to 25, who is already making a meaningful impact and demonstrates potential for future leadership. The Small Business Owner Award recognizes an entrepreneur whose success and community involvement contribute to a thriving local economy.
Nominations must be submitted by May 1, 2024. Those interested can complete the nomination process by visiting www.greaterreading.org/2026mujerawards. The online form requires details about the nominee, including their contact information, job title, and accomplishments over the past two years that positively impacted the community.
Nomination Process and Requirements
The nomination form requests the category for each nominee and includes sections for the nominator’s contact information and the rationale for the nomination. Additional supporting documents, such as articles or testimonials that highlight the nominee’s achievements, can also be submitted alongside the completed form.
A selection committee composed of community leaders will assess the nominations, and the winners will be revealed during the awards ceremony on June 11, 2024. Completed forms should be sent via email to Jackie Stiles at [email protected]. For any inquiries, Stiles can be reached at 610-898-7785.
This year’s celebration will not only honor exceptional Latina women in Berks County but will also provide attendees with valuable insights into financial empowerment. Abigail Torres and Michelle Leguisamon from Finanta will present practical advice on enhancing financial literacy, making informed financial decisions, and establishing long-term stability during the event.
