Rosalie Scorza Morell, a beloved member of the Palmyra community, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, at the age of 83. She was known for her vibrant spirit and active involvement in local organizations. Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, Gary Morell, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.
She is survived by her three children: Deanna Morell, John Morell (Michele), and Diane Kelly. The family also remembers her grandchildren, including Collin and Alyssa Morell, Nicolette and Lillian Morell, Hanna and Emma Kelly, and Sara Roberts (Nathan). Rosalie is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Plass (Robert) of Hyde Park, as well as a nephew, Andrew Plass, a niece, Christine Holder, and numerous cousins.

Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, Rosalie grew up in Hyde Park before moving to Palmyra after her marriage to Gary. Throughout her life, she was deeply engaged in various community activities, including her roles at Zion Episcopal Church and Grace House, where she made lasting contributions.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on March 6, 2024, from 16:00 to 18:00 at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, located at 123 E. Jackson St., Palmyra, NY. A funeral service will take place on March 7, 2024, at 10:00 at Zion Episcopal Church, situated at 120 E. Main St., Palmyra, NY 14522. Following the service, Rosalie will be laid to rest in the Palmyra Village Cemetery.
