The Lake Wenatchee Rec Club is gearing up for its annual Easter egg hunt and is seeking community support to achieve its ambitious goal of preparing 6,000 eggs filled with candy and surprises. The event, scheduled for April 4, 2024, aims to create a memorable experience for local families, particularly for children aged 10 and under.
Organizers have taken to social media to rally support, stating, “Every dollar helps us create a fun, memorable day for our local families.” Contributions can be made through Venmo at @lakewenatcheerecclub, with donations directed to an “Easter” memo. In addition to monetary support, the club welcomes donations of eggs, candy, and cookies in the week leading up to the event.
Community Involvement Encouraged
The Lake Wenatchee Rec Club is actively fostering community engagement by inviting residents to participate in planning meetings and egg stuffing parties. These gatherings provide an opportunity for locals to come together and contribute to the preparation of this cherished annual event.
The Easter egg hunt will commence at 11 a.m. at the LWRC clubhouse, located at 14400 Chiwawa Loop Road. Last year, approximately 150 kids participated, marking a successful turnout that the organizers aim to replicate and exceed this year. The event is organized in collaboration with the Plain Community Church, the Ponderosa Social committee, and various local contributors.
Interested individuals or groups looking to assist or sponsor the event can reach out to Michelle at 509-860-3220. The club encourages everyone to join in and help make this Easter egg hunt a delightful experience for families in the Lake Wenatchee area.
