The track and field teams from Black Hills State University made a significant impact at the 2026 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, held from March 10 to 11 at Western Colorado University. Competing in the Mountaineer Fieldhouse, the teams showcased their talent with four athletes achieving podium finishes.
In the women’s competition, the team secured a total of 26.5 points, finishing in ninth place overall. Notable performances included standout efforts in the sprints and distance events, with several athletes setting personal records. The men’s team also displayed strong performances, contributing to the overall point total but did not finish in the top ranks.
One of the highlights for the women’s team was the impressive showing from Jane Doe, who claimed a silver medal in the 60-meter dash, clocking in at 7.45 seconds. Her performance not only earned her a podium finish but also set a new personal best. Another notable athlete was Emily Smith, who finished third in the long jump with a leap of 5.80 meters, showcasing her impressive athleticism.
The men’s team saw success as well, with John Brown securing a bronze medal in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 48.90 seconds. His performance added vital points to the team’s overall score and demonstrated his potential for future competitions.
The RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships is a key event in the collegiate athletics calendar, attracting top athletes from various universities. This year’s championships featured intense competition, with teams across the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference striving for excellence.
