Harman Baweja and Arati Kadav Join Forces for New Film Project

Producer Harman Baweja and director Arati Kadav are set to collaborate on a new film, marking their second joint venture following the success of “Mrs.”, released in March 2023. This announcement coincides with the one-year anniversary of the critically acclaimed drama, which became a significant cultural reference point for its nuanced portrayal of domestic identity and gender dynamics.

“Mrs.”, produced by Baweja’s Baweja Studios in partnership with Jio Studios, featured actress Sanya Malhotra in a leading role. The film garnered widespread recognition, including awards at the Black Nights Tallinn and IFFI Goa festivals. It was praised for reinterpreting Jeo Baby’s Malayalam-language film “The Great Indian Kitchen,” adapting its themes to a North Indian cultural context and highlighting the gradual erosion of a woman’s sense of self through traditional practices like Karwa Chauth.

The details of the upcoming project remain undisclosed, but both Baweja and Kadav expressed enthusiasm about their renewed partnership. Baweja stated, “Mrs. reaffirmed my belief audiences are ready for audacious cinema that is intimate and transformative all at once. Collaborating with Arati evokes a thrill that comes from being on the same page while also being challenged.” He emphasized that the new project stems from a foundation of trust and shared vision.

Kadav echoed this sentiment, expressing her joy in working with Baweja. “I feel very happy, safe, inspired, and delighted to work with Harman Baweja. The mutual respect and faith we share form the foundation of a great relationship,” she remarked. Kadav also credited the teamwork behind “Mrs.” for its success, particularly highlighting the contributions of Malhotra and the production team.

The announcement of this new project follows the recent release of Baweja Studios’ film “Haq,” which has continued to build momentum for the production company. Looking ahead, the studio has an ambitious slate of films scheduled for 2026, including titles such as “Dil Ka Darwaza Kholo Na Darling,” “Captain India,” and “Boy From Andaman.”

As Baweja and Kadav prepare for their next collaboration, their commitment to pushing creative boundaries and exploring meaningful narratives remains central to their artistic vision. The film industry eagerly anticipates what this dynamic duo will create next.
