Nelson “Ozzie” King Passes Away at 87, Services Announced

BREAKING NEWS: Nelson “Ozzie” King, a beloved figure in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, has passed away peacefully at the age of 87. He died on January 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.

Born on September 21, 1938, in Bethlehem, Ozzie was a dedicated family man and a respected professional. He worked for over 44 years at Bethlehem Steel, where he served as General Manager of Hazardous Waste and Vehicular Services. After retirement, he spent 14 years as a shuttle driver for Scott Cars, forging lasting friendships along the way.

Ozzie cherished his time with family and friends, enjoying activities such as visiting the beach, attending casinos, watching horse races and NASCAR, and supporting the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bethlehem.

Ozzie is survived by his devoted wife of over 33 years, Sara Phillips King, and their children: Rory J. King and daughter-in-law Tammy, Tara King, Craig King and his wife Carol, Lisa Sutphen, and Brad J. King. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and he will be missed by his sister Kandy Waas and his cherished dogs, Gunner and Winston. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne Pollinger, and beloved dogs Parker Dugan and Redford.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, located at 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:30 A.M. until the service begins. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Sanctuary at Haafsville, Peaceable Kingdom, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
