Norwood Sisters Shine on NBC’s “Today” Show with Dance Ensemble

Sisters Jael and Calah Ingram from Norwood have received national attention for their remarkable achievements in dance and academics. The duo appeared on NBC’s “Today” show on January 21, showcasing their talent as part of The Legends House dance ensemble. Their mother, Keira Ingram, a local real estate broker, expressed pride in her daughters’ dedication and hard work.

The sisters’ journey to national recognition began with a performance at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts last summer. This performance garnered significant media coverage, including features on CBS and KYW Newsradio, which highlighted the ensemble’s commitment to excellence and its positive influence on youth through the arts.

The Legends House dance company, led by founder and artistic director Shayna Yvonne Rudd, is known for nurturing young performers through intensive training and numerous performance opportunities. Jael, a senior at Interboro High School, has distinguished herself as an honors student and the founder of her school’s dance team, which participates in events like homecoming and athletic competitions. Her accomplishments have earned her academic and dance scholarships to both Coppin State University and Hofstra University, and she is currently finalizing her college decision.

Calah, an eighth-grade honors student at Norwood Elementary School, has also shown a strong commitment to dance. She has undergone several years of training and continues to excel academically, laying a solid foundation for her future in the performing arts.

In a heartfelt statement, Keira Ingram remarked, “We are incredibly proud of Jael and Calah. Their journey reflects years of discipline, early mornings, late nights, and a deep love for the arts. We’re grateful for the mentors, educators, and community members who have supported them along the way.”

The sisters’ recent media appearances are a testament to the growing recognition of youth excellence in the arts and underscore the importance of community support in fostering young talent. Their story resonates with many, illustrating how dedication and talent can open doors to broader opportunities.

As they continue their journey, the Ingram sisters represent the promising future of young performers. Their achievements not only showcase their individual talents but also highlight the crucial role of supportive communities in cultivating the next generation of artists.
