Compass Community Credit Union Marks 75 Years

This month, Compass Community Credit Union celebrates its 75th anniversary. Established in 1951 as the California State Employees Credit Union, it initially served professors and employees of Humboldt State College, now known as Cal Poly Humboldt. The credit union underwent a significant merger on January 29, 1979, when it combined with the Federal Employees of Humboldt County Credit Union, adopting the name California State & Federal Employees No. 20 Credit Union.

Following a membership expansion in late 2017 to include residents and workers in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties, the credit union rebranded as Compass Community Credit Union in January 2018. “We are proud to celebrate our 75th anniversary and extend our sincere gratitude to our members in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties for helping us reach this meaningful milestone,” stated Ray Litchfield, president and CEO.

Compass Community Credit Union currently serves over 6,300 members and plans to host various promotions throughout the year to commemorate this significant anniversary.
