Kylie Gray Earns Spot on SSAC Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team

Kylie Gray, a standout student-athlete from Dalton State, has been named to the 2025 SSAC Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team, as announced by the league. This recognition highlights her exceptional performance both in the classroom and on the cross country course. Gray is one of only three athletes selected who maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA, showcasing her academic excellence alongside her athletic accomplishments.

To qualify for the Scholar-Athlete Team, student-athletes must be at least sophomores, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, and compete in at least half of their team’s events. Additionally, all members of the team finished in the top-13 at the SSAC Championship, earning All-Conference honors. The accolade of Scholar-Athlete of the Year was awarded to Kristina Stojanovic from William Carey.

Gray’s Performance on the Course

In addition to her academic success, Gray demonstrated impressive results during the fall season. She recorded a personal best of 19:10 in the 5K at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge and achieved a season-best 6K time of 23:27 at both the SSAC Championship and the UAH Charger Invitational. Her most notable finish came at the Mountainside Stride, where she placed 4th, further solidifying her status as a competitive runner.

Gray also participated in the NAIA Appalachian Challenge, where she secured a 43rd place finish. These performances reflect her dedication and skill in cross country, complementing her outstanding academic achievements.
