Tipico Joins EGBA, Vows to Uphold High Standards in Gambling

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has welcomed Tipico, a leading sports betting and iGaming operator in Germany, as its newest member. This inclusion highlights Tipico’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the gaming sector and aligns with the EGBA’s mission to promote high industry standards.

Tipico’s membership marks a significant expansion of the EGBA’s influence within one of Europe’s key gaming markets. The association describes this addition as a reinforcement of its role as “the leading voice” of the online casino sector in Europe.

Commitment to Industry Integrity

With its new membership, Tipico aims to contribute actively to EGBA’s initiatives, which focus on responsible advertising, safe gambling practices, and the prevention of criminal activities like money laundering. Jocher Weiner, Tipico’s director of public policy, expressed enthusiasm about joining the EGBA, recognizing the organization’s critical work in the industry.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting high industry standards and our fight against the black market for online gambling in Europe,” Weiner stated. His remarks underline Tipico’s dedication to protecting players and ensuring compliance within the sector.

Maarten Haijer, the EGBA’s secretary general, also welcomed Tipico, emphasizing the valuable expertise the company brings to the association. He noted, “As Germany’s leading online gambling operator with a strong track record, Tipico will reinforce our collective efforts to promote a well-regulated and sustainable gambling sector in Europe.”

Looking Ahead to a Safer Gambling Environment

The timing of Tipico’s integration into the EGBA is significant, coinciding with the lead-up to 2026, a pivotal year for the industry. Haijer expressed optimism about collaborating with Tipico’s team to advance responsible gaming practices across the continent.

The EGBA continues to advocate for best practices within the European gaming sector, urging its members to take proactive steps to protect consumers. To this end, the association has previously launched a dedicated website for the European Safer Gambling Week. This annual initiative aims to raise awareness about gambling risks and promote responsible play.

As Tipico joins the EGBA, both organizations are set to work together to establish a framework that champions integrity and safety in the gaming industry, creating a more secure environment for all stakeholders involved.
