Two More Penn State Players Transfer to Virginia Tech Amid Roster Changes

Two more players from the 2025 Penn State football roster have announced their transfers to Virginia Tech. Freshman defensive tackle Randy Adirika and redshirt freshman defensive end Mylachi Williams will join the Hokies, where they will be reuniting with former Nittany Lions coach James Franklin.

Adirika participated in two games as a reserve player last season, while Williams played in four games, recording one tackle. Their transfers contribute to a growing list of nine players from Penn State who have committed to Virginia Tech this off-season. The list includes quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer, tight end Luke Reynolds, linebacker Keon Wylie, tight end Matt Henderson, wide receiver Jeff Exinor Jr., defensive end Daniel Jennings, and offensive lineman Michael Troutman III.

In addition to Adirika and Williams, three other former Penn State players have announced their next destinations. Cornerback A.J. Harris is set to join Big Ten champion Indiana, safety Antoine Belgrave-Shorter will transfer to Arizona State, and wide receiver Matt Outten will play for Syracuse. Harris, who previously transferred from Georgia before the 2024 season, was a two-year starter and earned All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2025, finishing the season with 33 tackles, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery.

Among the 50 former Penn State players who entered the transfer portal, 35 have successfully found new teams. The remaining 15 players have until January 5, 2026, when the transfer portal closes, to secure their next opportunities.

On a related note, on Monday evening, sophomore offensive lineman Tyshon Huff from Division II Tiffin announced his transfer to Penn State. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Huff started every game for Tiffin in 2025 and is capable of playing both guard and tackle positions. He marks the 36th player to transfer to Penn State since the portal opened on January 2, 2026, and the seventh offensive lineman to join the roster.

Furthermore, twenty-two players from Penn State’s 2025 roster have either exhausted their eligibility or have declared for the NFL Draft. As the transfer season unfolds, the landscape of college football continues to evolve, reflecting the dynamic nature of player commitments and team strategies.
