Urgent Threat Targets North Texas Schools, FBI Investigates

UPDATE: An anonymous social media threat has triggered urgent warnings across several North Texas school districts, as the FBI investigates alarming content targeting specific campuses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The threat surfaced in a video featuring a masked individual holding a pistol in front of a Nazi flag, raising serious concerns for student safety.

The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) confirmed awareness of the video, stating that while it contains threats directed at the public, preliminary evaluations suggest it is likely not a credible threat. “FWPD Intelligence Exchange Section (INTEX) has strong reason to believe that the online video circulating IS NOT a credible threat,” the department stated in a news release. The video is suspected to have originated outside the U.S., seemingly designed to incite fear among communities.

In response to the ongoing situation, the FBI emphasized the seriousness of the threats. “We are working with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to gather, share, and act upon threat information as we become aware of it,” the agency said in a statement to FOX 4. Families in the affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately via tips to 1-800-CALL-FBI or through the FBI’s official website.

As a precaution, Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School will maintain a secure status throughout the day. Principal Paola Rodriguez announced that during this safety protocol, all students and staff will remain indoors as exterior doors are locked and movement is restricted. Classroom instruction will continue normally, albeit with heightened awareness and additional safety measures.

Local law enforcement agencies, including the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD police, are ramping up security in response to the threats. The district’s police department, along with FWPD and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, have implemented enhanced safety protocols after the threat mentioned Watson High School.

The River Oaks Police Department also addressed the social media threat, affirming that Castleberry High School is among the campuses targeted. Officials reported that an increased law enforcement presence will be implemented around all Castleberry ISD properties.

In addition, Lake Dallas ISD is actively updating families regarding the social media threat that references multiple schools across Texas, including Lake Dallas High School. Chief of Police Chadd Springer is in ongoing communication with the FBI, Department of Public Safety, and local law enforcement to monitor the situation closely.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay informed and discuss safety measures with their children as authorities continue to assess and respond to the threat. The situation remains fluid, and the community is urged to stay alert as investigations progress. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
