Body of Missing Hiker Eryn VanAcker Found in American River

URGENT UPDATE: The body of a hiker, identified as 40-year-old Eryn VanAcker, has been recovered from the North Fork of the American River in Placer County. Authorities confirmed the discovery on Monday, October 30, 2023, following an extensive search that began last week.

VanAcker was last seen on Friday, October 27, around 2:30 PM while walking her dog on the Codfish Falls Trail, just outside of Colfax. Her dog was found alone approximately 15 minutes later.
