Born on March 26, 1937, in Meri, Messina, Sicily, Maimone immigrated to the United States in 1971 with his wife, Antonina. They settled in Schenectady, where he worked as a mason for Local 190 in Albany and became an active member of the Sons of Italy on Hamburg Street.
Maimone is remembered not just for his professional contributions but also for his deep commitment to family. He is survived by his two sons, Giuseppe and Orazio Maimone, as well as his grandchildren, who include Nicolina, Angelo, Kamden, Ava, Sal, Anthony, and Roberto. He also leaves behind a sister, Anna, residing in Italy, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A calling hour will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, located at 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. Following the calling hour, a funeral service will be held promptly at 12 p.m. Maimone will be interred at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
