Community Celebrates Life of Gail K. Wold, 87, Musician and Volunteer

Gail K. Wold, an esteemed member of the West St. Paul community, passed away at the age of 87. Known for her enduring spirit and dedication to family, music, and volunteer work, Wold left a lasting impact on those around her. Her contributions spanned decades, particularly in her roles as a church musician and choir director.

Born Gail K. Zinschlag, she was the beloved mother of Janelle (Todd) Rau and Kevin (Jodi) Wold. Wold’s family legacy includes grandchildren Aaron (Kim), Emily (fiancé Jake), Griffin, and Shiloh, along with great-grandchildren Andrew and Daniel. She was also cherished by her brother-in-law, Paul (Linda) Wold, and her nephew and nieces, Andy, Julie, and Mary.

Wold’s life was marked by her deep faith and commitment to community service. She served as a musician at her church for over 70 years and directed the children’s church choir for more than 50 years. Additionally, she dedicated 45 years as a volunteer at the Minnesota Zoo, demonstrating her passion for animals and education.

Visitation and Funeral Services Scheduled

A visitation will be held from 16:00 to 19:00 on Friday, December 19, 2023. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2023, at 11:00, with an additional visitation starting at 10:00. Both events will take place at the King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 1583 Radio Drive in Woodbury. A luncheon will follow the service, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and celebrate Wold’s life.

Wold is preceded in death by her husband, Howie, and her parents, Gil and Ellen. Her legacy of love and service will be remembered by all who knew her. Memorial contributions are preferred in lieu of flowers, allowing her family and friends to honor her commitment to community.

In a world often busy with distractions, Gail K. Wold’s life serves as a reminder of the importance of connection, service, and music. Her contributions will be felt for years to come in the hearts of those she touched.
