Ronald J. Lentsch, aged 88, passed away peacefully in Blaine on December 10, 2025. Surrounded by his family, including his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Karen Lentsch, and their cherished daughters, Deb and Pattie, he left a legacy of love and joy that will resonate through generations.
Born into a loving family, Ron was known for his warm spirit and infectious sense of humor. His life was filled with meaningful moments, particularly during the summers he spent at the family lake retreat, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, and sharing quiet evenings with a cold Pepsi Cola and salted peanuts. These simple pleasures reflected his appreciation for family and nature.
Career and Community Engagement
Ron dedicated over 43 years to the St. Paul Pioneer Press & Dispatch, contributing significantly to the community journalism landscape from the 1950s until his retirement in the 1990s. Even after leaving the workforce, he remained active and engaged, notably starting his mornings with mall-walking at Northtown Mall. There, he formed friendships, charming fellow walkers with his singing and lighthearted banter.
Thursdays were special for Ron and his daughters, who gathered for games of Gin and Royal Rummy or enjoyed meals at local restaurants, such as Pizza Ranch. These gatherings encapsulated his belief in the importance of family and fun, often punctuated by laughter and playful competition.

He is survived by his daughters, Deb (Gary) Weber and Pattie (Scott) Morley, along with his grandchildren: Michael (Katie) Weber, Geoffrey (Christa) Weber, Christopher (Megan) Morley, and Moira Morley.
