New Kia Seltos Unveiled: Bigger, Smarter, and Affordable for 2026

UPDATE: The all-new Kia Seltos has been officially unveiled, boasting significant enhancements and set to hit U.S. markets in 2026. This latest model aims to attract buyers with its larger dimensions and advanced features, including the integration of a ChatGPT-powered virtual assistant.

The new Seltos, revealed in South Korea earlier this week, expands in nearly every dimension, growing to 174.4 inches in length and featuring an increased wheelbase of 105.9 inches. Kia plans to keep the model affordable, with starting prices at $23,690, catering to budget-conscious consumers looking for a competitive small SUV.

The 2026 Seltos will feature a hybrid option for the first time, although its release is expected to be delayed until later in the model year. Kia has ambitious plans for the Seltos, forecasting annual sales of 430,000 units, reflecting the model’s popularity and growth potential in key markets, including India and Europe.

The Seltos will be available in multiple trims, including the sporty GT-Line and rugged X-Line, enhancing its appeal across diverse consumer preferences. Notably, the vehicle will include advanced features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 12-inch head-up display, and enhanced audio options from Harman Kardon and Bose.

Kia’s decision to introduce a hybrid variant aligns with consumer demand for eco-friendly vehicles while maintaining a focus on affordability. The automaker has emphasized that the new Seltos will continue to compete against popular models like the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Toyota Corolla Cross while injecting some of the “Telluride magic” into this smaller SUV.

The design showcases a fresh exterior with a broad grille and stylish “Star map” running lights, echoing the look of Kia’s larger SUVs. Inside, the vehicle promises enhanced comfort and technology, with a layout featuring dual 12.3-inch screens and a responsive touch interface.

As Kia gears up for the Seltos’ market introduction in the U.S., officials are yet to confirm the availability of specific features and engine options. However, they have indicated that the lineup will include three gasoline engines producing between 149 and 193 horsepower, alongside the anticipated hybrid model.

With production planned in India, South Korea, and China, the Seltos is positioned as a critical element of Kia’s strategy to enhance its footprint in the global automotive market.

Stay tuned for more updates as Kia finalizes details leading up to the Seltos’ launch and prepares to offer drivers a compelling blend of size, technology, and affordability in the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment.
