The Teachers Health Trust (THT) is set to provide free primary care services and mammograms to its members through a series of mobile health care events next week. This initiative, known as “Medicine on the Move,” will take place at three high schools in Clark County, Nevada, offering essential health screenings and services to educators and their families.
The THT, established in October 1983, is a self-funded, nonprofit health insurance plan dedicated to educators in the Clark County School District and partner charter schools. According to THT CEO Tom Zumtobel, the mobile health events aim to improve access to critical health services, particularly for those in areas where care options are limited.
Dates and Locations
The upcoming mobile health care events are scheduled as follows:
– Tuesday, December 16, 2023 – Sunrise Mountain High School from 12:00 to 19:00
– Wednesday, December 17, 2023 – Centennial High School from 12:00 to 19:00
– Thursday, December 18, 2023 – Liberty High School from 12:00 to 19:00
Participants can receive annual wellness exams, mammograms, basic lab tests, and immunizations at these events. Interested educators are encouraged to sign up for appointments through the THT website at www.ththealth.org/calendar/.

THT emphasizes the significance of wellness exams and mammograms as vital diagnostic tools for early detection of serious health issues, including high blood pressure and breast cancer. Zumtobel remarked, “Wellness exams and mammograms are critically important diagnostic tools to aid in early detection of health concerns.”
By bringing these services directly to schools, THT hopes to make health care more accessible and convenient for its members. The first event took place last month at Laughlin High School, a location where access to medical services is particularly challenging.
