Gridley Football’s Undefeated Season Ends in Heartbreaking Loss

UPDATE: The Gridley High School football team’s quest for a state championship has been thwarted, falling 28-20 to Lincoln in a nail-biting CIF Division 6-AA regional final held on November 25, 2023. This defeat ends Gridley’s remarkable undefeated season at 13-1, snapping a 13-game winning streak that included a perfect 10-0 record during the regular season.

The Bulldogs struck first in the game, but Lincoln quickly rallied, taking a 14-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Gridley fought back valiantly, with standout running back Jace Griggs scoring two touchdowns in the second quarter, allowing the Bulldogs to reclaim the lead at 20-14 by halftime.
