William J. Clark, Esteemed Businessman and Family Man, Dies at 78

BREAKING: William J. Clark, a revered businessman and beloved family man, has passed away at the age of 78. He died peacefully on November 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and community service.

Born on January 18, 1947, in Lowell, MA, Clark dedicated his life to his family and his work. He married his soulmate, Deborah J. Meisner, on October 4, 1969, and their partnership lasted an incredible 56 years. The couple shared a deep bond and a love that inspired many, living in Nashua, NH, and vacationing in Venice, FL, over the years.

Clark was a towering figure in the construction industry, known for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to ethical practices. In 1997, he was honored as the first recipient of the New Hampshire Construction Industry Ethics Award. He co-founded Clark Bros. Masonry in 1969, a company that grew to become one of the largest masonry firms in New England. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish several successful ventures, including Merganser Corporation and Turnstone Corporation, which he founded with his daughter, Stacy.

In addition to his business acumen, Clark was deeply committed to his community. He served on various boards, including the Association of General Contractors, NH, and the Nashua Boys Club. His passion for giving back was evident in his involvement with the Milford Rotary Club, where he participated in numerous charitable events, including the annual Christmas Tree Sale and the 100 Holes of Golf.

Known for his adventurous spirit, Clark was an avid golfer and member of several country clubs, including the Nashua and Lochmere Country Clubs. He was also a competitive curler and enjoyed winter sports such as snowmobiling and ice fishing. His family recalls his joy during the annual Family Ice Fishing Weekend, where he relished spending time with his loved ones.

Clark is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah, and their four daughters: Mimi Rainford, Stacy J. Clark, Stephanie J. Clark, and Laura Krantz Tollman. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, including Meri Rainford, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and several family members.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 8 PM at Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith, NH. A Funeral Mass will follow on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Charles Church in Meredith. A private ceremony at the NH Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date.
