Boulder Opera Company Launches Season of Community Connections

URGENT UPDATE: The Boulder Opera Company has just launched its exciting new season, promising a captivating journey through opera that connects deeply with the community. Founded in 2012, this nonprofit organization is committed to making opera accessible to all, regardless of age or background.

This season kicked off with Opera in the Park at the Boulder Bandshell, an outdoor event where attendees enjoyed highlights from some of opera’s most iconic works. Families flocked to the November production of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, which brought warmth and humor to the stage. Looking ahead, audiences can anticipate the stunning Der Rosenkavalier by Strauss, set for April, exploring themes of love, time, and transformation.

The impact of Boulder Opera extends beyond the performances. Hundreds in the community, particularly from underserved Latino and Hispanic populations, have benefited from free concerts. Thousands of students from Title I schools have been introduced to the art of opera through engaging educational programs, fostering a new generation of opera lovers.

As a nonprofit organization primarily funded by donations, Boulder Opera is aiming to raise $12,000 this year to support artist compensation, expand bilingual programming, and enhance community access for the upcoming 2026 season. Their message is clear: even a small contribution can create a significant impact.
