URGENT UPDATE: A flurry of exciting holiday events is set to unfold in Annapolis and surrounding areas from December 7 to December 14, 2023. Residents and visitors are urged to participate in a variety of festive activities, from local markets to theatrical performances, all designed to bring holiday cheer.
Kicking off the festivities on December 7, the Advent Adult Forums at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church will explore themes of motherhood and women in the New Testament from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. This free event features Dr. Jennifer McNeel, author of “Under Her Wings: Women and Motherhood in the New Testament.”
At the same time, the Holiday MarketPlace will be held at the Severna Park Community Center from noon to 4 p.m., offering shoppers a chance to buy local gifts.
History enthusiasts can attend the Odenton Heritage Society Open House from 1-4 p.m., which commemorates Pearl Harbor with a special display featuring stories and food from World War II.
Theatrical lovers won’t want to miss the modern retelling of “Pride & Prejudice” at the Compass Rose Theater, scheduled for 2 p.m. on December 7, with tickets priced between $25 and $55.
As the week progresses, the Poinsettia & Holiday Sale at Tawes Garden will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 9, featuring fresh arrangements and local food trucks.

The week culminates with the much-anticipated Christmas in St. Michaels event from December 11-14, featuring gingerbread contests, parades, and a tour of homes. Visitors can vote for their favorite gingerbread houses on display starting December 12.
For those wanting a musical experience, the Ensemble Galilei’s 35th Annual Winter Solstice Concert on December 14 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. will showcase beloved Scottish and Irish tunes, with tickets available for $35 to $40.
