JoJo Siwa Updates Fans After Hospitalization for Burst Ovarian Cyst

JoJo Siwa shared an update on her health following a hospitalization for a burst ovarian cyst. The singer and dancer, aged 22, took to social media to inform fans about her recovery after experiencing severe abdominal pain that prompted medical attention. The incident occurred before her performance at the Mall of America on March 15, 2024.

Siwa detailed her experience in a TikTok video, explaining how the pain intensified over several days. She initially dismissed the discomfort, thinking it might be menstrual cramps. However, after attempting to relieve her pain with a bath, she found herself struggling to breathe and feeling faint.

In her words, “That set it off 100 times worse,” leading her to call her mother for help. Given the severity of her condition, her mother contacted emergency services. When first responders arrived, Siwa’s vitals appeared normal, but her excruciating pain warranted a trip to the hospital for further examination.

At the hospital, an ultrasound revealed that one of her ovaries had a cyst that had burst, causing internal bleeding. “So that’s what was causing the excruciating pain,” Siwa explained. Medical staff provided pain relief, and she was released after about two hours. Remarkably, she was able to perform just one hour later at the Mall of America.

Following her experience, Siwa expressed gratitude to her fans for their support and to the healthcare professionals for their swift and compassionate care. She emphasized the importance of addressing health issues, stating, “It’s like brutal pain, and long story short, should revolve itself. It should stop on its own.”

Her health scare has underscored the significance of listening to one’s body, especially in high-pressure situations. Siwa plans to have a follow-up appointment within a week to monitor her recovery and ensure there are no further complications.

As she continues to recover, fans remain supportive, celebrating her resilience and commitment to her craft. Siwa’s message serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of health and the importance of seeking help when needed.
